Our Journey and Values

Whether we scale up or down, quality is our constant.

Since our predecessor translate.IT was founded in 1995, our journey in the language service industry has been fuelled by a commitment to quality and client-centric approaches.

Between 1995 and 2001 we evolved from a freelance-scale operation to a team of over 35 skilled professionals, each bringing their own unique expertise to the table.
In 2005, primarily due to family life and health, Herbert scaled translate.IT down to just a few people. Since then former employees have started their own successful companies but translate. IT deliberately remained small, until David (Herbert’s son) joined the company in 2018.

Ever since youthful energy and seasoned experience make shared ambitions of father and son reality and push the boundaries of what’s possible in terms of quality and scale.

Trust, honesty, and accountability

Both within our team and towards our clients, these values form the foundation of our success.
They are the source code that drives the quality of our work.

Active in the Language Service Industry since 1983

Throughout my career, I've held various roles in the language service industry. It began with teaching languages in my late teens while pursuing degrees in French, English, and Italian. In the late 80s after my graduation as a Business Engineer, my brother and I rapidly expanded a translation agency to eight figures. I later returned to freelancing but once again, just a few years later, I found myself managing over 35 employees. Eventually, I stepped away to prioritize family. However; two decades later, I found myself rebuilding everything. This time alongside my son.

Active in the Language Service Industry since 2013

Both my father’s and my mother’s entrepreneurial activities inspired me to follow in their footsteps. During my youth and studies I saw my future in Arts and Design. Disillusioned by the reality of the Art Industry I turned to my family. What remains coming from that artistic background is that I have adopted a mindset which isn't limited by knowledge and beliefs. I find joy in exploring even the most fantastic ideas. On the canvas I embrace this attitude without boundaries. In business I could not imagine anything more satisfying than collaborating with two extremely precise and realistic engineers.
